The Alpharetta JV Lady Raiders fastpitch softball team played host to the Roswell Lady Hornets in a 6-AAAAA matchup on Tuesday, but fell one run short of victory in a high-scoring game.
Alpharetta jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning and another in the second while holding the Lady Hornets scoreless. The Lady Raiders added another run in the third.
Then Roswell's bats came alive as the Hornets scored two runs in the third and added seven more in the fourth giving Roswell a 9-4 lead going into the fifth inning.

Both teams scored once in the fifth inning. Then Alpharetta made things interesting by posting four more runs in the sixth.
