Roswell Keeping Pace in Playoff Quest

The news wasn't as good Friday night for Centennial and Fellowship Christian.

Another Friday night, another nailbiter for the Roswell Hornets.

Looking to stay in the playoff hunt in Region 5-AAAAAA, Roswell gutted out a 22-19 win over Woodstock Friday.

Last week, the Hornets edged Wheeler 21-19. Their win last night improves their record to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the region. That's good for a second-place tie with Milton and Cherokee, Roswell's opponent next week.

That's the only good news for Roswell teams in high school football this week.

Centennial was hoping to bounce back after a one-point loss to Lambert last week. But the Knights remain mired near the bottom of Region 6-AAAAAA following a 35-24 loss to South Forsyth on Friday.

Centennial is 1-6 and 1-3 in region play, with its only win coming against winless Johns Creek. The Knights play North Forsyth next week.

Fellowship Christian trailed Mt. Paran Christian 42-0 at halftime enroute to a 52-21 loss Friday.

The Paladins, who are 4-3, play host to King's Ridge Christian next week.
