Roswell Swim Team Honored by City

Thanks to Russ Thomas of the Roswell Adult Swim Team for the information and photos as the group was honored recently by the Roswell Mayor & Council after winning the Atlanta Adult Swim League Championship for the second year in a row in September:  

The adult team members competing at the championship meet were Anne Barnes, Dan Beatty, Ryan Bried, Carlton Eaton, Tierah Ellard, BJ Fendler, Stacy Fox, Jon Gellin, Tina Gravenstein, Joe Hroma, Ig Ibarguen, Erica Kenny, Angela King, Ian King, Chelsea Lincoln, Jonathan Luckhurst, Toni Mugnier, Kim Richards, Mary Tapia, George Smith, Kyle Smith, Russ Thomas, Chrissy Warrilow, Phyllis Warrilow and Charlie Weiss.

The 2013 team was led by Head Coach Cynthia Lou and assistant coaches Jonah Beri, Tierah Ellard, Kyle Smith and Austin Sumrall.

Other 2013 team members include Stephanie Bachman, Mary Bawsel, Emily Bourne, Cathy Burkle, Ashlynn Figura, Jay Hicks, Theo Keyserling, Bob Manley, Liz Saint, Alain Sergile and Austin Sumrall.

At the championship meet, the Roswell women attained first place finishes in the Women's 19-29 200 Yard Medley Relay and 200 yard Free Relay as well as the Women's 40 & Over 200 Yard Free Relay. The Roswell Men took first place honors in the  19-29 200 Yard Medley Relay and 200 Yard Free Relay, the 30-39 200 Yard Medley Relay and the 40 & Over 200 Yard Free Relay.

Women’s Roswell Adult Rapids individual event champions were: Tierah Ellard (Women's 19-29 50 yard Backstroke, 50 Yard Breast & 200 Yard Free); Stacy Fox (Women 30-39 100 Yard IM);  Tina Gravenstein (Women 30-39 50 Yard Breast); Erica Kenney (Women's 40-49 50 yard Backstroke & 40 & Over 200 Yard Free);

Men’s Roswell Adult Rapids individual event champions were: Dan Beatty (Men's 40-49 50 yard Backstroke,  50 Yard Breast & 40 & Over 200 Yard Free); Ryan Bried  (Men's 30-39 50 yard Backstroke); Carlton Eaton (Men 40-49 100 Yard IM & 40-49 50 Yard Fly); Jon Gellin (Men 19-29 50 Yard Fly); Ig Ibarguen (Men 50&O 100 Yard IM & 50&O 50 Yard Fly); Ian King (Men's 50 & Over 50 yard Backstroke); Kyle Smith (Men's 19-29 50 yard Backstroke).

The Roswell Adult Swim team is open to all swimmers, residents and non-residents, ages 19 and older as of June 1. The team practices also continue through July and August.

In addition to the Adult swim team, the team also offers practices for beginner to advanced level adult swimmers.
