Alive After 5: No Cars Allowed in July

The city has approved closing Canton Street for the July Alive After 5 event.

Roswell City Council recently approved closing Canton Street for the July Alive After 5 event.

"Many of you have asked that the event close part of the street, so we are going to give it a try in July," stated a recent post on the event's Facebook page.

After seven years, Alive After 5 organizers will begin to work with the city to shut down south Canton Street from Norcross Street to Magnolia Street.

Roswell's will post detour signs prior to the closing on July 19.

Norcross Street will remain open and Roswell Police will be on hand to help detour vehicles, according to event organizers.

"We will want your feedback after the July event to let us know if the street closing made the event better for our guests or if it caused more problems than helped," states the Facebook page.
