Cool Off With Free, Cheap Activities At These Local Places

Here are some free and almost free places to enjoy locally with your family.

School is almost out and this means that summer is finally here. Get out and enjoy the season with these great activities we have found in our area. Become one with nature for free or splash and cool off for a few bucks and then go enjoy a free frozen drink. It's definitely time for some summer fun. Here are five deals to help you enjoy yourselves this weekend, and beyond. 

1. McDonalds in,, and

Deal: Use this coupon for $1 off of their new Cherry Berry Chillers. Some of the restaurants are promoting this new item for $1 so it could end up being free. 

Good Through: The coupon expires June 15.

2. Riverside Farmers Market at

Deal: Stop by the first farmers market of the season, Saturday, May 19 from 8 a.m.-noon. The market will sell Georgia-grown produce, plants, cut flowers, organic meats, soap products, honey, compost and more.

Good Through: The market will be held Saturdays from May 19 though September 15, 2012 at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street.

3. Autry Mills Nature Center in  

Deal: The Spring Into Summer celebration is Saturday from 11a.m. Until 3 p.m. The event offers water fun, Ice cream making, reptiles, and so much more. The cost is $5 for members and $7 for no members.

4. Wills Park Swimming Pool in

Deal: The community pool opens for the season on Saturday. The cost is $3 per person over 3 years of age, per day. This is a huge pool with diving boards and a covered water area for babies and toddlers.

Good Through: The pool is open all season.

5. Aquatic Center in

Deal: This opens on Saturday and features a pool, waterside and a lazy river. For $4 for kids and $5 for adults fun can be had in four hour sessions.
