Cyclists to Take Over Ga. 400 in Century Ride Sunday

The annual cycling event will shut down part of Ga. 400 for several hours on Sunday, July 8. Registration is still open to riders who want to participate.

If you're not prepared, Ga. 400 Hospitality Highway Century Ride is one of those sights that might make you believe you're seeing things; which is unsurprising since it's not everyday you see hundreds of cyclists traveling down a highway that is normally packed with motorists.

The annual ride begins at Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell before winding its way down Ga. 400 through Sandy Springs, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek and Alpharetta.

Open to cyclists over 12-years-old, there are 9-mile, 23-mile, 60-mile, and 100-mile options. (Click on the mile option links for a PDF of each ride's exact route.)

Riders of both the 60-mile and 100-mile rides will climb the "Three Sisters," three short climbs near the end of the ride in Roswell. In total, the 100-mile ride is over 8,500 feet of climbing up short steep hills, according to the Ga. 400 Hospitality Highway Century Ride website.

Register ahead online for $40 or $50 on Sunday. Check-in for all riders opens at 5:15 a.m. Riders must arrive and check-in prior to 6 a.m. in order to ride on Ga. 400.
