Gas Prices: Georgia Prices Fall Prior to Holiday Week

Prices have fallen around 55 cents from their peak this year in April.

If your wallet feels a little heavier, it could be the leftover gas money you haven't had to spend. At a time when many Roswell residents will be traveling for July 4th celebrations across the country, gas prices are at their lowest since January.

MSNBC reports that prices are down nearly 20 cents from this time last year and every state in the continental U.S. is under $4 per gallon, currently. However Americans are buying five percent less gas this year than we were last year. The over 50 cent decrease in cost per gallon from its peak in April is due in part to slow economic growth and tepid job creation, according to CBS News.

Despite the dismal reasoning, most will find the extra money useful - especially if things on the economic front are a bit shaky.
