Hail, 50 MPH Winds Possible Until 6:15 PM

The National Weather Service also forecasts thunderstorms, lightning and gusting winds are possible throughout the week.



A significant weather advisory for dime-sized hail and 50 mph winds remains in effect in Cobb and Fulton counties until 6:15 p.m., particularly Roswell, Sandy Plains and Sandy Springs.

The National Weather Service reports the strong thunderstorm has the potential to produce dime sized hail, frequent cloud to ground lightning and wind gusts to 50 mph as it moves across

the counties. Heavy downpours will cause ponding of water on roadways.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible overnight, with a greater chance across North Georgia ahead of a cold front.

That cold front over the Tennessee Valley will gradually approach north Georgia through tonight.

Weather hazards expected Tuesday through Sunday include frequent lightning, gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall with possible flash flooding.
