Rep. Tom Price a No-Show

After promising the previous day at his Town Hall Meeting to meet with constituents concerning the bi-partisan bill requiring comprehensive background checks, Congressman Tom Price was a no-show.

Rep.Tom Price failed to show up today to meet with a local group of constituents who wanted to discuss his opposition to comprehensive background checks on gun purchases. The bi-partisan King Thompson Bill would close the loopholes that make it easy for criminals and dangerous people to get guns. Mr. Price promised at his Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday that he would meet with the group of his constituents who were joined by the Mayors Against Gun Violence of Georgia. Included in the gathering were several constituents who lost loved ones to gun violence. Over 100 people met at his Roswell office and were told by his representative that Congressman Price had a previous commitment. When he was asked why the congressman wasn't there when just the previous day he said he wanted to hear what his constituents had to say, the representative answered that he had "no comment" and had no control over Mr. Price's schedule.

The group left a petition for Mr. Price asking for his affirmative vote on the proposed legislation and the consensus was that the insensitivity he demonstrated by his absence was a clear message to his constituents that his attention is directed more toward business as usual in Washington than it is toward his constituents in Roswell.

Maybe its time for a change!
