AuPairCare Staff Volunteer at the Foster Care Support Foundation

More than a dozen au pairs, representing countries from throughout the world, recently visited the Foster Care Support Foundation in Roswell to volunteer and learn more about community service in American culture.

At the Foundation’s warehouse the au pairs cared for children in the nursery and helped sort winter and summer clothes that will be given to foster children throughout Georgia. 

“For many of the au pairs the abundance of volunteer opportunities offered in the metro-Atlanta area is new to them,” said Rebecca Ensley, local area director for AuPairCare in Roswell.

The Foster Care Support Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer organization that gives free clothes, toys and safe infant-care equipment to thousands of Georgia’s foster children. They partner with Georgia’s Department of Family and Children Services for child verification, foster parent recruiting and foster parent training.

“Along with the opportunity to volunteer, the staff at the Foster Care Support Foundation gave the au pairs an overview of their mission and explained the important role that volunteers play to operation of their organization. Many of the au pairs plan to continue to volunteer their time and donate to the organization in the future.”

Au pairs are young adults from countries outside of the United States that live with American host families and provide 45 hours of childcare each week. AuPairCare is a leading au pair agency providing affordable live-in childcare services to American families since 1989.
