Brennan Passons Memorial Fund Raises $22K

When the Queen of Angels student died from asthma complications last year, many were inspired to give to her memorial, which helps fund the school's art programs.

The young girl whose untimely death has inspired so many would be proud - Brennan Passons Memorial Fund for the Arts raised $22,228 in its first year, 2011-2012.

"Brennan touched so many in so many ways and gave unselfishly in any way possible," Sarah Passons, Brennan's mother, told Roswell Patch in an e-mail. "We are so proud of her and so grateful for everyone that gave so much of their time, money and love to her memory."

The memorial fund was begun as a way to pay tribute to Brennan, . The fund money goes toward several arts programs at Brennan's school, in Roswell.

Brennan will live on through the future artists and all students at Queen of Angels thanks to the fund, said Sarah.

Part of the memorial is funded by "Batting for Brennan," a sponsored sports-based fundraiser started last school year by Brennan's friend, Reagan Shu. This year the fundraiser is open to anyone who wants to participate - in any sport.
