Country Club of Roswell's Tennis Pro-Am to Benefit 'Bert's Big Adventure'

(CCR) will be hosting its 34th annual Tennis Pro-Am Invitational to benefit Bert’s Big Adventure on Aug. 3-5.

The award-winning Pro-Am is the largest in the Southeast and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.

This year's event will begin on Friday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. with a Lowcountry Boil and Auction Gala. The evening will feature musical entertainment by Banks and Shane, “Bottomless” Gala Sweet Tea Vodka Cocktails courtesy of Sinless Cocktails as well as the silent and live auction.

The live auction will feature a number of high-end luxury prizes including an NFL Falcons experience, a South African photo safari, a personal CCR tennis mixer, a box for one 2013 Braves game, a week-long stay at a deluxe Pawleys Island vacation home and many more. CCR is continuing to accept auction donations. Those who would like to make a donation visit the website to see how you can help support Bert’s Big Adventure. The silent auction has already begun bidding and winners need not be present to win. Silent auction bidders can go online to view auction items and bid on them via smart phone or text message. Bidding will end after the live auction on Aug. 3. The silent auction features gift certificates to many area restaurants, salons, entertainment and family fun.

On Saturday, Aug. 4 at 8:15 a.m., the Pro-Am will begin which features some of the best professionals in the South alongside CCR members. Matches will end by 4 p.m. on Saturday with semi-finals and finals taking place on Sunday, Aug. 5 between 8 a.m. and noon. This year the tournament will also feature an outside vendor market with a portion of their proceeds going to Bert’s Big Adventure as well. Lunch will be available for purchase in the courtyard at CCR. The tournament is free for the pubic to attend.

Because CCR prides itself on being the premier family club in North Fulton, the children haven’t been left out of this year’s event.

A special kids program in the ballroom of the Clubhouse from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. will feature pint-sized tennis nets as well as performances by the DoJo and Chambers Performing Arts, face painting and a bounce house. The children’s program is open to the public and the $20 donation per child and includes lunch from The Fresh Market. The proceeds from the children’s program will also benefit Bert’s Big Adventure.

Tickets to the gala are available to the public and are $100 per person with all proceeds benefiting Bert’s Big Adventure.
