enAble of Georgia Recieves $25K Grant from The UPS Foundation

The money will be used for capital improvement projects.

recently received a $25,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS, to use on capital improvements.

The grant will be used for three of enAble of Georgia’s residential group homes to install a new roof, flooring, cabinets, countertops, and energy-efficient appliances, as well the widen doorways to accommodate progressive mobility issues and devices of the residents.

enAble of Georgia provides support services to more than 100 people with special needs in metro Atlanta. Individuals are served through the organization’s Community Access, Community Living Supports, and Community Residential Support Services programs. enAble of Georgia’s operations are located in Fulton County. The organization is also a licensed Private Home Care Provider in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale Counties.

“Our organization received prior funding from The UPS Foundation to make improvements to our Day and Employment Services program. It means a great deal to us, a nonprofit organization with limited resources, to have The UPS Foundation bolster our commitment to the people we serve and our community,” remarked Cecelia Camp, chief executive officer of enAble of Georgia. “The capital improvements to our three homes made with this $25,000 grant will increase the safety and well-being of the long-term residents, facilitate environmental efficiency and financial savings, and help improve the livability of the respective neighborhoods and surrounding communities.”

Established in 1951 and based in Atlanta, Ga., The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues. In support of this strategic approach, The UPS Foundation has identified the following focus areas for giving: nonprofit effectiveness, encouraging diversity, community safety and environmental sustainability.

In 2011, The UPS Foundation distributed more than $45.3 million worldwide through grants that benefit organizations or programs such as enAble of Georgia and provide support for building stronger communities.
