Help Local Families By Going to the Movies this Weekend

Aurora Cineplex will donate 10 percent of concession profits over the weekend to the city of Roswell's "Play It Forward" program.

Personal entertainment has never been as altruistic as it will be this weekend when customers help local families in need - just by munching at the movies.

The local theater will be donating 10 percent of concession profits to the Friends of Roswell Parks program, "Play It Forward." The program is designed to help families who have found themselves in difficult times financially. "Play It Forward" pays registration fees for a limited time for families who have participated in the past, but cannot afford to continue because of financial issues. The payment is thought of as a loan, which can be repaid when times are better. Though repayment isn't required, the money given back to the program will go to help another family in a similar situation.

And unless you haven't watched television or visited a bookstore in the past six months, you probably know one of the biggest movies of the year comes out this weekend: The Hunger Games.
