Local Youth to Plant 2,500 Trees this Weekend
Coordinated efforts between the city, local non-profits and the Boy and Girl Scouts of America are responsible for this massive undertaking.
More than 2,500 trees will be planted throughout North Fulton during the week of Georgia's Arbor Day, Feb. 17.
Dubbed "Trees Across Roswell," the joined effort is a partnership between the , the , the the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America.
"A considerable amount of effort and coordination has gone into the planning," Theo Keyserling of the Roswell Rotary.

The festivities begin with a kick off event at the Chattahoochee Nature Center at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, featuring several local and state leaders. Organizers predict around 350 children will pick up the 2,500 seedlings purchased by Roswell Rotary with instructions and maps of the Roswell area indicating where to plant the next day, Saturday, Feb. 18.
"They will focus on planting trees at area parks, fire stations, schools and churches," said Keyserling.

Cub Scout Pack 135 will plant their trees at historic at 11 a.m., Saturday morning.
To celebrate the unprecedented effort, Chattahoochee Nature Center will host a wrap up party at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19. Best of all, they're offering free admission to Roswell residents who want to attend.
