NFCC Swings Into Action for Golf Tourney

Golfers can help North Fulton Community Charities swing into action by participating in the organization's third annual golf tournament Monday at the Standard Club in Johns Creek.

"We look forward to this amazing event every year," said Vonda Malbrough, development director. “This tournament allows our volunteers, supporters and donors to participate, bring friends and provide both awareness and fun while supporting the needs of our neighbors."

NFCC’s mission is to provide emergency assistance by connecting the broad resources of the community with the evolving needs of the area. The goal is to prevent homelessness in North Fulton by supporting families during short-term emergencies with food, clothing, rent, utilities and other basic needs. 

NFCC sees an average of 100 families per day and provides nine tons of food per week. In 2010, the group assisted more than 5,000 families and provided $1.1 million in financial assistance.

“You cannot imagine the number of people who line up in the wee hours of the morning requesting our services,” Malbrough said.
