Support HomeStretch This Sunday

The Roswell non-profit needs volunteers to cheer on the Atlanta Track Club's marathon, Sunday, Oct. 30.

Getting up early on a Sunday is a small price to pay for being able to help out one of Roswell's most active non-profit organizations. HomeStretch has put out the call for volunteers to cheer on runners during the sold-out Atlanta Marathon this Sunday morning so they may receive a $3,500 donation.

The organization is one of only 18 nonprofits selected to participate in the 2011 Atlanta Track Club "Adopt a Marathon Mile" on Sunday. HomeStretch will need to have 90 volunteers line the street as spectators, cheerleaders and "water boys" along mile 12 of the marathon route, which is on Highland Avenue in Atlanta.

If HomeStretch reaches the 90-person goal, the organization will receive a minimum donation of $3,500. But the donation goes up for showing extra spirit. Costumes, signs or anything that ups the spirit quotient is welcome along the route!

According to the Atlanta Track Club, they will be giving between $63,000 and $135,000 to the 18 organization, depending on the level of participation from each group.

HomeStretch will provide noisemakers, coffee, donuts and fun.
