The special event July 12-13 salutes military brides who have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, or whose fiancé’s are on active duty.

will hold its fifth consecutive military bridal gown giveaway later this week.

Brides Across America - a nationwide charity dedicated to helping provide free wedding gowns for military brides - partners with boutiques throughout the U.S. to salute military brides who have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, or whose fiancé’s are on active duty.

“We are so grateful for the service men and women who are showing their commitment to our country. There is no better way to thank them than to help them celebrate their wedding!” said Jacqueline Westney, owner of Wedding Angels Bridal Boutique.

With over 100 dresses given away within the last year, Wedding Angels employees are experts at matching military brides-to-be with their dream dress, at no charge. For the third year running, brides will have their pick of designer wedding gown samples at no cost to them, courtesy of Wedding Angels Bridal Boutique. Many couples have fast approaching wedding dates because of challenges with planning leave from their deployment. Wedding Angels is prepared to help the brides look their best and feel like the belle of the ball for her wedding day!

"I can't express how much receiving my gown has meant to me" said Kaleena, a bride and Army Medic from Alabama. "It is a great relief to know that one of the biggest decisions to be made for that day is taken care of; and even better to know that it was done as a tribute to military personnel. Thank you again for taking the time to sponsor such a great program.”

In order to qualify brides must be engaged, or could have had a previous civil ceremony and are planning a wedding within the next 18 months. The bride or her fiancé must have been deployed within the past five years to Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, Bahrain, Libya, or Japan and have not had a formal wedding, or the bride or her fiancé will be deploying to one of those locations. All military brides must bring a valid driver’s license or military ID and a copy of deployment papers for the bride or her fiancé that states the time of deployment and location. Brides do not have to reside in the area where the giveaway is taking place.

The event has limited amounts of gowns and the event is on a first come first serve basis.
