How has volunteerism made a difference in your life?
- Seeing girls [in Girl Scouts] succeed and be more confident makes you feel like you've made a difference.
- I have built lasting relationships within the club and the community. The Roswell Lions are a very active Lions club. Our motto is "We Serve". We are involved in more than just fundraising. We are involved in environmental projects: Roswell Green Day, Adopt-A-Road, Adopt-A-Stream and Rivers Alive. We are involved with youth in the community: Peace Poster Contest and the Lions Young Ambassador program. We are involved in a number of sight related projects. We provide eye screenings in the community at the Roswell Day of Hope and the Opening Eyes Program with Special Olympics. We ensure that any student in a Roswell school (all ages) has the glasses they need to see so they can learn. We have collection boxes around the community for recycling unused glasses. These are just a few things about our club. I invite you to visit our website. We are also on Twitter and Facebook. - Jeffrey Hammen
