A Weekend for the Arts in Roswell

The 47th annual Roswell Arts Festival is the perfect lead-in for National Arts and Humanities Month in October.

In Roswell, the arts are celebrated all year long.

But as fall approaches, the city's appreciation kicks up more than a few notches.

This weekend, the 47th annual Roswell Arts Festival takes place, with a full slate of artists and two days of family entertainment at the Roswell Square.

Not long after that, numerous cultural institutions in the city will be taking part in National Arts and Humanities Month.

As Roswell Cultural Arts Board chairwoman Rochelle Mucha wrote on Roswell Patch last weekend, "The Arts are a measure of a community’s vibrancy."

At this year's Roswell Arts Festival, a wide range of artists from the Southeast will be exhibiting their work, from photographers and sculptors to painters, jewelers, potters and craftsmen and women.

The entertainment schedule is eclectic, with dancers and the North Fulton School of Music taking the stage on Saturday, and Chloe Sanguine, Twin Spirit and Peachy Pyron featured on Sunday.

The Roswell Arts Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. It's recommended that visitors park at City Hall, and ride a free shuttle to the square.

The festival also has regularly updated information on its Facebook page.
