Fulton Urges 911 Use Over 112

The number is not universally available on all phone carriers.

Fulton County Emergency Services Director Angela Barrett is urging residents to continue using 911 as the primary emergency assistance number, although "112" is being introduced in some areas as an alternate to "911." Calls to the "112" number have jammed emergency lines in Paulding County recently, reports wsbtv.com. Roswell Police have stated that it hasn't been an issue yet locally. While "112" may be more familiar to international visitors, it has not been tested on all phone systems here in the metro area and is not universally available.
