Mock SAT, ACT to Be Administered at Roswell High School

Test costs go to benefit the Roswell High School band.

Roswell High School is sponsoring a mock SAT or ACT exam in the cafeteria in August that will benefit the high school's band. Students can pre-register and pay $7 at the door the day of the exam, Aug. 25, or pay $10 as a walk in without pre-registration. Exams are actual retired tests, timed, and are proctored by Studyworks of Roswell, a local test prep company, providing a real exam experience. A separate no-charge workshop is offered to all mock exam participants and their parents on Sept. 5 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the RHS media center. Individual results and an 8-page analysis report will be reviewed, exam taking strategies will be discussed, and a Q&A session will be offered. Tech Accepted Students Raise the Bar

School has high expectations for the 2012-13 freshman class; eighty-six countries and 49 states represented in the admitted class.

The Georgia Institute of Technology is a difficult school to gain admittance to - very difficult. The school recently said the average high school grade point average for those accepted to Georgia Tech for the 2012 fall semester is 3.9 with an average SAT score of 1430 or 2105 with writing included. That represents an average of 700 points for each section. Approximately 14,700 students applied for acceptance to Georgia Tech for the 2012-13 school year, an Institute record and a three percent increase from last year. Each student is vying for one of the 2,400 spots for fall admission or the 250 spots available to start this summer. Get Your Student Ready for SAT or ACT

Roswell High School holds mock SAT and ACT exams and followup workshops this month.

Standardized tests during high school can mean the difference between getting a scholarship or not getting into college. In other words, there's a lot riding on those big tests with short acronyms. To help better prepare students for the SAT and ACT exams, Roswell High School is sponsoring mock exams in the RHS cafeteria on Feb. 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Exams are actual retired tests and are proctored by Studyworks of Roswell, a local test prep company, providing a real exam experience.
