Georgia 400 Reopens, Traffic Slow

Falling debris from a truck causes all lanes 400 to close for sometime on New Year's Eve.

Falling debris from a vehicle traveling on Ga. 400 struck several cars this evening.  Sandy Springs Police Lt. Steve Rose said Ga. 400 northbound is now moving slowly again. The accident occurred between the Ga. 400 toll booth and the Glenridge Connector exit, Rose said. Police advise motorists to exit at Lenox Road and take secondary roads into Sandy Springs; re-entering Ga. 400, if necessary, on Abernathy Road. The driver of the vehicle that caused the multi-car collision has not been located.  Police say several cars were able to avoid the debris but one car passenger suffered serious injuries. The passenger was struck in the head when debris crashed through the windshield.
