The May event promises more of the same kind of historic district fun.
Warmer weather welcomes May's Alive After 5 tonight, Thursday, May 16. As usual, food trucks, local vendors, artisans, music, entertainment, kiddie fun and shopping are all scheduled for the May event. Take the trolleys from the parking lot at Roswell City Hall to either area of the historic district - Canton Street and the Roswell Square. Alive After 5 Once again, Canton Street will be closed from Magnolia Street to Norcross Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will reopen at 10 p.m. Webb Street will close at 4:30 p.m. from West Alley (near The Chandlery back door) to Canton Street and Elizabeth Way will close at 4:30 p.m. from Highway 9 to Canton Street for vendor set up. It's not officially spring in Roswell until the historic district comes "alive." Alive After 5 and Alive at the Square kickoff tonight, Thursday, April. 18. As with years past, attendees can expect the popular local event to be quite the spectacle. Food trucks, local vendors, artisans, music, entertainment, kiddie fun and shopping are all scheduled for the season's inaugural event. Roswell residents and visitors will close out the warm season with one last Alive After 5 and Alive at the Square, Thursday, Oct. 18 from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Roswell historic district.

The cooler months may be fast approaching, but Alive After 5 and Alive at the Square still have a few fun evenings left in them this season. The monthly summertime event descends upon the historic district tonight, Thursday, Sept. 20. As always, locals can expect food, shopping, artisan tents, music and entertainment at both ends of the outdoor celebration. Organizers have added a third trolley to shuttle pedestrians from Roswell City Hall to either area of the historic district. The first Alive at the Square, now a part of Alive After 5, was a big hit will locals this week, Thursday, Aug. 16. The event will return to the Roswell Square next month, Thursday, Sept. 20, when Alive After 5 makes its monthly appearance in Roswell's historic district.

Expect some fun new and returning extras during tonight's Alive After 5, Thursday, Aug. 16.
Months of preparation will culminate in Roswell's largest Alive After 5 event to date tonight, Thursday, Aug. 16, with the addition of Alive at the Square and new street closure times. Alive at the Square will extend the popular Canton Street party all the way down to the historic Roswell Square, at Mimosa Boulevard and Highway 120. As an iteration of the Canton Street event, attendees can expect later business hours, vendors and music to all be a part of the extended celebration around the Square. Back down at the original end of the monthly summer event, the southern portion of Canton Street will once again close from Norcross to Magnolia streets. The city will close part of Canton Street for the monthly event in Roswell's historic district, beginning Thursday, July 19.
For the first time in its seven year run, the increasingly popular Alive After 5 will shut down a portion of Canton Street for the event. Organizers have decided to close the road from Magnolia Street to Norcross Street, allowing attendees to wander the historic district's busiest area, free from vehicle traffic. It's a move that many have called for since the event's inception and even more so after a local 14-year-old boy was hit crossing the street at the event during 2011. But fears over a drop in attendance due to a lack of accessibility proved enough to hold off on closing the street.
