You see, this poor pup was used by someone to train another dog to fight. Precious Rainy is not a fighter at all - he's very loving and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Meet Em, a Lab/mix female who's affectionately known as a "beautiful Georgia brown dog." She is 6 to 7 years old and weighs a "perfect" 50 pounds. Em is also spayed, microchipped, totally house-trained and crate-trained. Em's fosters only put her in her crate if they are going to be gone more than a few hours, as she is fine being loose in the home most of the time. She does seem to have a desire to help her human keep the house clean, so if you leave socks and old papers laying about, she will at times help you clean up by picking them up and taking them to her crate to chew on. Meet "Jaffe," a male Hound-mix dog who is 4 to 5 years old and weighs approximately 78 pounds. This boy is a tad overweight right now, but his foster is helping him slim down a bit. The vet says ideally he should weigh about 60 pounds and he was obviously overfed by his previous owners. Meet little Cilla, a Daschund/Yorkie mix girl who is around 1 year of age and weighs approximately 8 pounds - and every pound is full of love, affection. Even though Cilla is small, her heart is as big as the sky and full of love and hope for a family and home of her own. Cilla is spayed, 98 percenthousetrained (100 percent if taken out periodically), microchipped and up-to-date on all vetting and shots. She is also crate-trained and adores her crate. Meet Ivan, a male Chihuahua mix who is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He is neutered, 90 percent house-trained, is up-to-date with all his shots and vetting, is micro-chipped and is ready to find the right, perfect family and forever home.  Ivan came to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue from a high-kill shelter where he was dumped by his previous owner. As he was being left, his owner stated she "wanted nothing to do with him" and simply walked out. This precious dog was so traumatized by his experience, he had to be sedated at the vet's office when receiving his initial checkup and care. Please meet sweet Ezra. He is a 2-4 year-old Corgi/Terrier mix who weighs around 17 pounds. This baby is truly 17 pounds of pure love and affection. There is nothing better in this world to him than having a child to love on him, pet him, and allow him to share lots of sweet kisses. Ezra is good with humans and other animals and is just the most wonderful little boy who enjoys everything and everyone. This dog was adopted by a couple who worked very long hours. This caused him to be kept in his crate for up to 20 hours a day. His owners didn't want him to potty in his crate, so they didn't give him much water and food. Meet Kirstie – a Spaniel/Beagle mix female who is 19 months old and weighs around 30 pounds. This poor girl and her siblings were found at the age of three months old in a high-kill shelter in Georgia and were rescued before their turn to be euthanized. All of these puppies had fear issues at the time of rescue and Kirstie most of all. She is timid and initially scared when she is in an area without boundaries/no fencing and takes her time building trust with humans and a bit longer with males, but, with patience, comes a reward of love and acceptance from this amazing young pup. Kirstie has a lot of energy and loves to run laps in the back yard and in the house. Meet Witteny – an American Pit Bull Terrier and a gorgeous girl who is 2 years old and weighs 55 pounds. As you can see from her pictures, this dog is gorgeous and has a personality and demeanor that matches her beautiful looks. Witteny was pulled from a high-kill Georgia shelter in June 2012. Due to her breed and the stigma surrounding it, she was listed as a "rescue only" dog. Witteny was slated to be put down at 4 p.m. the day she was saved (at 3:55 p.m.) by an Angels Among Us volunteer named Lynda who agreed to foster her and save her life that fateful day. When Lynda got this girl home, she was very skinny and had the scars on her of being used as a possible "bait dog."
