Colorful ceiling tiles improve the view of patients recovering at Glancy Rehabilitation Center in Duluth.
The view for patients recovering at Glancy Rehabilitation Center in Duluth is cheerier now. About 20 artists from the local area - including Roswell - painted 30 ceiling tiles to go over beds at Glancy and improve patient "uplook." Artists who provided 2- by 4-foot tiles for the project included:Â Some of the artists painted more than one ceiling tile. The tiles have been installed in 30 patient rooms. Bobbie Flowers, owner of Luv for Art in Duluth, provided space for the artists to paint the ceiling tiles. Glancy also worked with the Johns Creek Art Center on this project. Randall-Paulson Architects is hosting a special historic streetscape art session to immortalize the city through young eyes on July 27.
A local architectural firm is set to capture a part of history for future generations via the talents of Roswell's youth. When he learned of a Roswell North Elementary School class project in which students were asked to create and assemble a cityscape for a school fundraiser, local architect Alex Paulson was so struck by the piece he bid on it and won. Unsurprisingly, as an architect, Paulson was so enamored by the idea of seeing a city through youthful wonder-filled eyes, he wanted to pursue it further. But instead of creating just any old city, why not ask local youth to artistically capture the city they live in? And more specifically, the city's historic district? That's exactly what Paulson is doing. His firm, Randall-Paulson …

Cowgirls Studio in historic Roswell is part art studio, part gallery.
Somewhere in between the desert rocks and the wide open skies of New Mexico, four local women found their calling and brought it home; not just as wives or moms or daughters or friends, but as cowgirls - daring to take on a new adventure in the form of opening their own art gallery, Cowgirl Studios. Disguised as a basement unit in the SoCA Shops on Oak Street, the studio is actually the embodiment of a tangible dream Nicole Merkens, Charlotte Tate, Cheryl Young and Heida Halldorsdottir began to weave last year on a trip out West for a workshop in clay. Though the women had first become friends during a class at the Roswell Art Center West, it wasn't until they followed a former instructor to New Mexico for a week in June 2011 they …

Elementary students will compete in a comic strip contest. Middle and high school students will compete, separately, in a video contest. All winning entries will be featured on The Clean Air Campaign’s website, social media channels and printed materials — showing off the winner’s talent to tens of thousands of Georgians!
