In a surprise presentation to recognize his work as president of the Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, Ken Davis was recently given the first artistic rendering of the Mill Wheel award. The award was presented in gratitude for Davis' ability to help define new directions for the organization and provide guidance that ensures success. The new Mill Wheel award was created by Lillie Glassblowers.

The popular Roswell event is held in August each year.
The Historic & Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Roswell has won a Southeast Festivals and Events Association ‘Kaleidoscope Award’ for Best Marketing Campaign. The award was specifically given to the city for its increasingly popular Trilogy Trolley Crawl, held in August each year. The unique event name itself was created to explain the evening, according to information provided by the city. The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA), in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), recently announced Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department as a finalist for the 2012 National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. Leaders from North Fulton Hospital recently presented Sheena Buyuccan, RN, with the DAISY Award for nursing for the month of March. A nurse in the medical telemetry unit, Buyuccan was selected for this honor following nominations submitted by her patients and peers. An associate degree nurse who will complete her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) this year, Buyuccan moved to New Jersey from the Philippines in 2003 and then relocated to Georgia in 2011. The local organization received the Keep America Beautiful 2011 President's Circle Award.
For the nineth year in a row, Keep Roswell Beautiful was awarded the Keep America Beautiful President's Circle Award. Fulton Science Academy students and teachers were applauded for the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence honor the 10-year-old charter school received.
The warehouse turned school celebrated being one of the best in the nation as Fulton Science Academy Middle School held a National Blue Ribbon Award Assembly this afternoon, Nov. 2 All of the school's students, teachers and administrators were joined by a few parents as state, county and local officials praised them for their success. Georgia's First Lady, Sandra Deal, brought her best wishes and those of her husband, Gov. Nathan Deal, to the school. Deal said she knew the students worked hard and deserved the honor that was bestowed upon them. She advised them to be kind as they sought their own success.
