Winners of awards at this year's Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau Annual Meeting and Community Awards dinner included Table & Main's Ryan Pernice.
Locals gathered at the DoubleTree Hotel Tuesday evening to celebrate the Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) 22nd Annual Meeting and Community Awards dinner. The May 7 banquet, attended by approximately 220 people, honored community members for their tireless efforts to better Roswell. The CVB recognized several leaders in the community with a variety of awards: History Maker of the Year Award – Sally White White is not originally from Roswell, but rather from a neighboring city. However, she has been actively involved this city since 1959, serving on numerous committees, boards, and task forces. Who's making history in Roswell? Are there any young professionals worth noting? How has economic development been affected by a local individual? Those are the questions the Roswell Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is currently asking Roswell. The CVB, which oversees the city's tourism program and Roswell Business Alliance, will host its 21st Annual Meeting and Community Awards on May 7. The CVB Board is is seeking nominations for three categories of awards: The deadline for nominations is March 15.Guidelines and nomination forms are posted online. Five Roswell area school projects were honored.
Several Roswell students at three area schools recently won International Student Media Festival (ISMF) awards for their media production projects. The winning entries included: Students will go on to accept their awards during the ISMF in Louisville, Ky. during November.

The 2012 Agency Hands in the Community Award gives $1,000 grants to the charitable organizations where local agents volunteer.
Several Allstate agents recently received the company's 2012 Agency Hands in the Community Award for their commitment to helping others. The winners included: “The Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service and commitment to communities where we live, work and do business.” said Allstate’s Southeast Region Field Senior Vice President Bob Holden. “With support from The Allstate Foundation, these gentlemen are making our hometown a stronger, safer place." North Fulton students in grades kindergarten through 12th picked up awards at the Teaching Museum North in Roswell for the PTA Reflections competition.
Parents at the North Fulton Council PTA Reflections Reception on Wednesday afternoon at the Roswell Teaching Museum were fairly bursting with pride. Awards for literature, visual arts, film, musical composition, dance choreography and photography for each grade level - kindergarten through 12th - were handed out by volunteers for the PTA's nationally sponsored Reflections competition. The theme this year was “Diversity means …” First, second, third and honorable mention awards went to students throughout North Fulton including Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs.
