Bank-Owned Homes Donated to Local Habitat for Humanity

Two properties were recently donated to Habitat by Bank of America.

Bank of America has donated two properties to Roswell-based Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia in support of the affiliate’s efforts to build affordable housing in partnership with low-income families in North Fulton, Forsyth and Cherokee County. The donations are part of a national partnership with Habitat for Humanity International through which the bank will donate up to 2,000 vacant properties for renovation or reconstruction over the next three years. Bank Of America To Charge Monthly $5 Debit Card Fee

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) blasts the bank.

Bank of America will charge customers $5 per month to use their debit card starting in early 2012. The fee will apply to customers who use their debit card to make any purchases during the month, but won't apply to those who only use it for ATM transactions. Debit card use is on the rise, according to Digital Transactions. Signature debit card transactions jumped by almost 10 percent between April 2010 and April 2011. The Bank of America charge is the latest in a slew of fees big banks are adding to checking accounts and debit cards. JPMorgan Chase tested charging a $5 ATM fee for non-network customers in Illinois in July, a plan they ultimately abandoned. Johns Creek Bank of America Robbed This Morning

The Johns Creek Police Department is asking for public's help in identifying this man.

Johns Creek Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying the individual who robbed a Bank of America branch this morning in Johns Creek. The black male, approximate age mid-40s, entered the Bank of America at 10950 Medlock Bridge Road (corner of Abbotts Bridge Road) at approximately 10:05 this morning, Tuesday, May 24. The note he passed to the teller said that he had a gun, but he never displayed any weapon during the time he was in the bank. He left the scene on foot.
