12 Killed in Shooting at 'Dark Knight' Screening in Colorado

At least 50 wounded; suspect in custody.

A midnight screening of "Dark Knight Rises" turned tragic when a gunman opened fire in a movie theater in suburban Denver. At least 14 people are dead and 50 injured. Ten people died in the theater. According to media reports, Aurora, Colo., police have a suspect in custody. Witnesses at the Century 16 movie theater say the gunman, wearing military-type fatigues and gas mask, set off a smoke bomb and then made his way through the theater, gunning people down. Bullets went through the theater wall, injuring people in the next theater, as well. Some 250 police officers responded to the scene and found the suspect near a car at the back of the theater. 'The Dark Knight Rises' is a Masterpiece

Halfway through 2012, we have our first real contender for the movie of the year, with the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It's simply an amazing movie.

Christian Bale plays Bruce Wayne again. His fortune is dwindling; his body is battered and his alter ego continues to elude police in "The Dark Knight Rises." This is a tough movie to review because I don't want to spoil anything. So I will try keep my review spoil-free. Basically, Batman is forced out of retirement after a new bad guy emerges from the sewer, a thug by the name of Bane (played by Tom Hardy). When he shows up, Gotham is overrun by anarchy. The supporting actors are fantastic in this film. Commissioner Gordon is again played by Gary Oldman; Marion Cotillard plays a philanthropist; Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a cop; and Anne Hathaway digs her claws into the role of Catwoman. Tickets for 'Dark Knight Rises' On Sale Now

Movie premieres Thursday night at midnight; some theaters hosting Batman marathons.

Holy blockbuster, Batman! When the "Dark Knight Rises" premieres Thursday night at midnight, it's basically a guarantee that it will break ticket sale records. The third and reported final installment of director Christopher Nolan's Batman series starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader is expected to rake in more than $150 million in its opening weekend alone. In other words, if you are set on seeing the movie this weekend, you might want to go ahead and buy your tickets now. In fact, as of July 1, 100,000 tickets were already pre-sold.
