Roswell Schools Receive Grants to Serve Breakfast

Mimosa and Holcomb Bridge are two of the 12 schools involved in the Fulton County Schools project.

Two Roswell schools will now offer an alternative school breakfast, thanks to a more than $224,500 grant from the American Association of School Administrators to Fulton County Schools recently. The program will be implemented in 12 high-need schools throughout the system. Mimosa Elementary will offer "Breakfast in the Classroom," a program where students pick up a bagged breakfast from the cafeteria and take it to their classroom to eat before the school day begins.  Holcomb Bridge Middle will offer "Grab-n-Go" breakfasts. This model allows students to pick up a bagged breakfast from the cafeteria or from portable kiosks located throughout the school. NFCC Annual Community Breakfast Brings Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Several supporters and volunteers were honored at the special breakfast in November.

Hundreds of supporters, including representatives of the civic, faith, and business communities, attended North Fulton Community Charities’ Annual Community Breakfast on Nov. 14. The event celebrates the generosity of those who provide their time, talent and treasure to support low-income North Fulton families in crisis. The breakfast provides information on upcoming holiday projects and fundraising events; as well as updates on the need  in our community, and the impact of NFCC support on the 15,000 individuals who receive support to help them return to self-sufficiency. The coffee chain is the latest eatery to offer a breakfast special. Now through Saturday, Feb. 4, the popular coffeehouse chain has a breakfast special, according to the Web site. You can get a breakfast sandwich or wrap for $2 with the purchase of a handcrafted beverage. The disclaimer: "at participating stores, while supplies last." In other words, get it while you can. River Eves Hosts Dads Breakfast

The elementary school invites Dads to bring their students to school and stay for breakfast tomorrow morning.

Calling all dads: the River Eves PTA will host its third annual school breakfast for fathers this Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 a.m. in the Media Center at River Eves Elementary School.   Fathers and male role models or mentors are invited to bring their students to school, share breakfast and learn about opportunities for dads to get involved at the school. At the end of the breakfast, fathers are encouraged to walk their students to class. “Research and our own experience show that children of involved fathers are more likely to enjoy school, have better grades, have fewer behavior problems and become more responsible adults,” said Neil Pinnock, principal of River Eves Elementary. “When fathers are involved with their children’s education, they …

Chick-fil-A's cows are asking customers to vote “Chikin 4 Brekfust.” To help the cows along the campaign trail, the restaurant is treating customers to breakfast the week of Labor Day.  Patrons can visit www.chick-fil-aforbreakfast.com starting today, Monday, Aug. 29 to reserve the free breakfast entrée of their choice. The Rotary Club of North Fulton holds 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast this week, Thursday, May 5.

The Rotary Club of North Fulton will hold its 10th Annual North Atlanta Interfaith Prayer Breakfast at Alpharetta's Metropolitan Club on Thursday, May 5.  The breakfast is one of several events locally which celebrate the National Day of Prayer, which is also May 5. "It is an enriching experience as we hear from members of different faiths and public figures who share their faith with us," club president-elect, Bo Wagner, said of the event. "I personally walk out each year with a happy heart and ready to face the day." Cagle Coming to Speak at Chamber's Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast

The Atlanta Athletic Club hosts the Lieutenant Governor one week from today as the legislative session continues.

Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle will return to North Fulton as guest speaker at the March 29 Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Brandon Beach, the chamber's president and CEO, announced today. Cagle will speak at the breakfast to be held at theAtlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, which will be sponsored by Chamber member Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. He is a successful entrepreneur and former state senator, in 2006 becoming the first Republican ever elected to Georgia’s second highest office.  He was reelected in November 2010.
