North Fulton Chamber Honors Volunteers

Brad Beisbier will lead the chamber in 2013, and won this year's Board Member of the Year award.

Neary 500 members of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce gathered at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead Saturday night to honor leading members of the local business group. Awards handed out included: Harry L. Rucker Junior Volunteer of the Year Connie Woltz of State Bank was named Volunteer of the Year for her work as a chamber ambassador throughout the year, attending most events, ribbon cuttings and functions. Board Member of the Year Brad Beisbier, senior vice president of PNC Bank. Beisbeir has led the membership drive for the chamber now for the second year, with emphasis on the Chairman's Circle. ALDI to Open New Store in Roswell During May

Store officials say the store at Mansell and Crossville roads will open Thursday May 3.

Roswell residents will have a new grocery option beginning in May when ALDI opens its doors at the new location at Mansell and Crossville roads. The select assortment discount grocer opens three new Atlanta-area stores, May 3. Verint Relocating from Roswell to Alpharetta

The company will leave Roswell to expand its operations next door in Alpharetta.

Verint Systems Inc. is leaving Roswell to move its regional operations to Alpharetta, expanding its operations by more than 35 percent, according to Cushman & Wakefiled. The commercial real estate firm announced that Verint has signed a new lease for 132,000 square feet of office space at 800 North Point Parkway in Alpharetta. Located in suburban Atlanta, 800 North Point Parkway totals 172,000 square feet on four floors. Verint’s new space was formerly occupied by Alcatel-Lucent, which will consolidate its own operations to neighboring 900 North Point Parkway. Planned enhancements to the building by the new ownership include a new fitness center, upgraded café, and extensive lobby and common area renovations. Verint is expected to be fully…

Renovation Planned for Major Holcomb Bridge Shopping Center

Hawthorne Retail Partners will sink $2 million into a complete facade redesign for Holcomb Woods Village Shopping Center.

Charlotte, NC-based Hawthorne Retail Partners is planning a $2 million renovation of the 103,081 square foot Holcomb Woods Village shopping center located at 1570 Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell.  According to the company's website and a release sent out by them, the renovation will include extensive façade, parking lot and landscaping enhancements. The shopping center - which was acquired by an affiliate of Hawthorne in October 2011 - should see the renovation completed by the end of summer.   The center, adjacent to Home Depot and the PGA Tour Superstore, currently includes tentants such as Joseph & Friends Salon and Spa and J's Beverage Depot, but owners are hoping to also add new tenants with the advent of the redesign. Progress Partners Helps Sell North Fulton Business Community on Avalon

The chamber initiative wants North Fulton business people to come out and support the mixed use development.

North American Properties and the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce tried to convince 140 local business leaders to contact Alpharetta elected officials to tell them to approve the Avalon development's zoning. "I'm asking you for your support," said Brandon Beach, chamber president. "This chamber is fully behind Avalon and what you are doing," he told Mark Toro, head of North American Properties' Atlanta office. Progress Partners, the economic development arm of the chamber, sponsored a breakfast at AdvancED this morning, March 21, which was attended by Roswell Mayor Jere Wood. Last Day to Get Free North Fulton Business Expo Tickets

If you don't register by March 13, you'll have to pay $20 to get in the event being hosted at the Marriott in Alpharetta.

The North Fulton Chamber is gathering 1,200 business people in one space to do business, and you can attend for free if you register by today, Tuesday, March 13. Onsite registration will be $20. It's the 2012 North Fulton Business Expo, which offers businesses the chance to share their products and connect with companies and resources that can help their businesses succeed. More than 80 exhibitors, speakers and volunteers will be on hand at the Atlanta Marriott-Alpharetta on Windward Parkway. Tenet Health System, North Fulton Hospital Reaches Deal with BCBS of Georgia

Negotiations ended on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

After several months of negotiations, Tenet Health System and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia reached an agreement to allow patients covered by the insurance company to be treated at Tenet facilities - including North Fulton Hospital. The agreement was reached late Tuesday afternoon just hours before the present contract was scheduled to end.   “We are extremely pleased that Tenet and BCBSGA were able to finalize an agreement before the Feb. 1 deadline,” says Deborah C.
