Roswell resident Eric M. Martin, 42, former head of investor relations for Carter’s, Inc., the major children’s clothing company, pleaded guilty today, Dec. 18, to conspiracy to commit securities fraud and wire fraud in connection with a multi-year, multi-state insider trading conspiracy primarily involving Carter’s stock. Martin was convicted of tipping a former Wall Street analyst about Carter’s quarterly and annual financial results and other material, non-public information in advance of the public announcement of the information during Martin’s employment with Carter’s between 2005 and 2009. “This conviction is further evidence that illegal insider trading takes place throughout the country, not just on Wall Street,” said …

Isn't it true that congress is protected from law if they do any inside trading? The penalty is absolutely ridiculous no lives were taken, no injuries, my God our justice system is absolutely screwed up!!! Why not use this wonderful, neighbor and great family man to do something to help others, volunteer for some charity. Going to prison is deplorable. A friend and neighbor   more ›
