As one of the runners and a Roswell resident, I appreciated all of the City's support during the event. It was great to see Roswell Police managing the traffic blocks and influx of runners with a smile. It was a great day to run!   more â€ş

Hi Gina - I am sorry you did not have the experience you hoped for. I do remember this particular day and there was an emergency in the bridal store and could not open on time. Margarita did the best thing she could to accomodate and honor your appointment and did your fitting in our sister store. The dress had been altered once and this appointment was for the second fitting with one more …   more â€ş

New Roswell Bridal Boutique Benefits Charity

Vintage & Vogue, an upscale women’s consignment shop with a charitable mission, is opening a consignment bridal boutique next door to its Roswell Square location. The shop, called I Do & I’m Done, is looking for bridal and bridesmaid dresses.

Times are hard, but giving back doesn't have to be. Or at least that's the theory behind Vintage & Vogue, an upscale Roswell Square women’s consignment shop with a charitable mission. Vintage & Vogue has been in business for just over a year. Maria Walden-Sullivan, the owner, had a career in philanthropy and recognized that it was becoming harder for people to give to charity in a tough economy. With no retail experience, she opened her shop with the goal of donating proceeds to charity.  “With the economy the way it is, I think this is a better way to ask for money,” Sullivan said. “People can donate something from their closet and give back that way.” Here’s how it works. People bring in clothes to sell on consignment and they receive 40…

Mountain Park Students Donate $2K to Local Charities

Fifth grade students will make donations to the Chattahoochee Nature Center, Foster Care Support Foundation and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Fifth grade students in the talented and gifted classes at Mountain Park Elementary recently developed their own businesses and then gave the profit to charity. As part of an economics unit, "Mind Your Own Business," students in Leslie Gilbert, Ellen Rubin and Kati Searcy classes were challenged to create a real-world business. Students had to decide on an original product to manufacture, choose the name for their company, decide what to do with their profit, and then finally, create and market the product.   "Kooky Kupz," "Write-On" and "Word Wizards" were the result of creative thinking and hard work. The three companies raised over $2,000 total and donated all of the profit to local charities.

'Tote Bag Lady,' Carries Encouragement to Help Inspire Homeless

This article focuses on Roswell resident Betsy Anderson who has dedicated a large portion of her life to helping homeless people get on their feet. She provides them with basic need items, as well as motivational speeches.

From disappointments, hardships and despair, sometimes comes a sense of duty. In that sense, Roswell resident Betsy Anderson can most definitely relate. Her past mirrors that of so many people, but her giving spirit has helped countless numbers of other people rise above their struggles. Anderson spearheads a grass-roots effort that provides basic necessities, words of wisdom and encouragement to women who are homeless. She has been active in assisting the metro Atlanta's homeless for the past 10 years. Anderson, who has never had to live in a shelter as a homeless person, says her efforts are rooted in her faith. She shares that faith with many of the people she helps, and she stresses that this is the reason she is able to relate, …

It is aweome what Betsy Anderson is doing selflessly. She is an inspiration to me, and a reminder what a devoted individual can accomplish. I am excited to speak with her, and learn more about her cause.
