OP-ED: State Sen. Albers Applauds Chick-Fil-A

State Sen. John Albers says it's time for people to respect others when they have a different opinion.

Glancing through the pages of American history, it is evident that our founding fathers were not guided by a culture that based its truth on the subjective societal norms of the day. Although norms evolve from generation to generation, these courageous individuals lived by a standard that never changes: the Holy Bible. Truett and Dan Cathy are no exception. Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-Fil-A, built one of the most charitable family-owned businesses in the nation while remaining true to Judeo-Christian principles. Given that Chick-Fil-A is a well-known Christian company, the recent uproar in the media regarding the company’s support of traditional marriage should not have come as a surprise. Dan Cathy, the president of Chick-Fil-A, …

Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy Will Speak at Chamber Breakfast

Dan T. Cathy will discuss his business philosophy at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce August Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast meeting.

Dan T. Cathy, president and COO of Chick-fil-A, will soon speak at the August North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast. Cathy has recently been in the news for comments he made in an interview with the Baptist Press about "the biblical definition of the family unit." Many gay and lesbian groups have since labled the company as a "hate" organization and Jim Henson Company even withdrew its kids meal toy contract. Georgia Senator John Albers (R-Roswell) recently voiced his opinion about the matter in a written statement, saying: "Given that Chick-Fil-A is a well-known Christian company, the recent uproar in the media regarding the company’s support of traditional marriage should not have come as a surprise. Dan Cathy, the…

So, technically, it would be illegal for his company to refuse service for gays dining at Chick-Fil-A. Now if those laws didn't exist, who is to say he wouldn't? Mr. Cathy is entitled to his personal beliefs, we all are. What is discriminatory is his company funneling millions (via …   more ›

Local Stories: Reunion at Chick-fil-A in Roswell

Teaching at the STAR House in Roswell comes full circle for a local resident.

Roswell Patch was recently sent the letter below by local resident, Janet Russell. She had originally shared her story with the Chick-fil-A corporate offices and decided it was appropriate to also share with her fellow Roswell neighbors - we agreed. Many years ago I was volunteer at Star House in Roswell. It is an afterschool program for children at risk. I helped with homework, reading and English. I loved the children who were so motivated. In fall of 2011, I visited the Roswell Town Center Store and from behind  the counter I heard "Oh Miss Janet," I am so glad to see you." I looked and said, "Oh my goodness, I know you, but who are you?" "I am Fatima. You taught me English at Star House when I was little. I remember so well how you …
