Circus, Widespread Panic, The Avett Brothers Schedule Dates in North Fulton

Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre's first 2013 "show" will be the Big Apple Circus, which will pitch its big top in the parking lot off Founders Parkway next month.

The circus is coming to town, and so are Widespread Panic and the Avett Brothers. Performances are scheduled at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in North Fulton. The Big Apple Circus, Widespread Panic and The Avett Brothers – with Old Crow Medicine Show – are scheduled in 2013. Big Apple Circus The Big Apple Circus won't be under the roof of the amphitheater, but that's good, because the circus is bringing its Big Top Tent to Parking Lot A for a true circus experience. The show will be Legendarium: A Journey Into Circus Past, and it marks the Big Apple Circus's first time back in Georgia for three seasons. The Circus is Coming to North Fulton

Big Apple Circus will set up its big top tent in Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre's parking lot in February 2013.

The circus is coming to town! Yes, Big Apple Circus will be in Alpharetta from Feb.1-17, setting up the big top in Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre's parking lot. Alpharetta City Council had to approve the special event because it will be held for more than four days. The one-ring circus will have shows twice a day, with no Monday performances. Worried about the weather? Don't, circus officials say, because the big top tent will be climate controlled. Tickets are priced between $20 and $60 at the Big Apple Circus site, but look for promotional opportunities to get discounts. Cirque de la Symphonie Comes To Alpharetta on Saturday Night

Producer and performer Alexander Streltsov talks about the show and how it came to be.

Acrobats, aerialists, contortionists, dancers, jugglers and strongmen will share the stage with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Alpharetta on Saturday, July 30 in Cirque de la Symphonie. The circus-style acts will be choreographed to classical and contemporary musical pieces performed live by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski.  Patch spoke with Alexander Streltsov, who is one of the performers and a producer of Circue de la Symphonie.  Streltsov was born into a circus family in Russia, saying that it was his destiny to follow in his father's footsteps. At the age of 12, he developed his act and went to Paris where he won a gold medal. From there, he went to Broadway and toured the world …
