A head-on crash in south Forsyth County sends three Roswell women to hospitals.
Four women remain hospitalized in stable condition after being injured in a head-on collision Sunday night around 9 on Bethelview Road and Hanover Lane in south Forsyth County, including three women from Roswell. Investigator Ron Tomblin of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said that Jocelyn Afari, 50, of Cumming, was driving a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquise and failed to stop at a stop sign. Tomblin said that Afari was traveling too fast to make the turn off Hanover Lane onto Bethelview Road and instead drove into the southbound lane of Bethelview and slammed head-on into a 2010 Toyota Rav 4. A 27-year-old man and his and his 23-year-old passenger from Roswell were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital after he crashed on Interstate 75 in Marietta early today. The man was driving a black 2007 Nissan Altima north on I-75 shortly after midnight when he clipped a Lincoln Town Car while changing lanes, CBS Atlanta reported. The Altima went out of control and slammed into the median wall before stopping in the middle of the highway near the Canton Road Connector, 11Alive reported. The crash shut down three lanes of northbound traffic, WSB-TV said. Marietta police are still investigating the crash but believe that speed and alcohol were factors, 11Alive said.
