A 22-year-old Roswell man was arrested Tuesday in connection with methamphetamine trafficking, according to authorities. Pedro Aguilar-Lopez, of Rosemont Parkway in Roswell, was taken into custody by the Narcotics Unit of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. The arrest was part of a controlled buy, according to investigators. Just before 3 p.m. deputies stopped Aguilar-Lopez, who traveled to Forsyth County with the one-half pound of methamphetamine in his 2004 Acura TL, as he pulled into a business at The Collection at Forsyth on Peachtree Parkway. A group seeking reform of Georgia’s marijuana laws will head to the state capitol on today, Jan. 14 to begin an educational campaign for its legalization, beginning with medical use of the drug. James Bell, director of Georgia C.A.R.E., said the marijuana reform coalition wants to start a public discussion on the impact marijuana laws have on the criminal justice system and the public. Federal prosecutors view Dakota Blaze Dyer as a victim in its drug trafficking case against Thomas Malone Jr. and nine other defendants. Fourteen-year-old Dakota, who lived in Breman, Ga. shot himself and died in March 2012 after taking a synthetic drug known on the street as “Mr. Miyagi.” His father, Lance Dyer, intends to speak at Malone’s sentencing in August. Two men have been arrested on drug charges stemming from the discovery of a large amount of narcotics Thursday night in Roswell. Roswell Police spokesman Lt. James H. McGee said in a press release early Friday afternoon that Joshua Michael Morris, 21, of Roswell, and Killian Casey Wilkerson, 22, of Cumming, were arrested after police found the drugs at 205 E. Crossville Road. Police found four pounds of marijuana, more 500 various pills, undisclosed amounts of LSD and psilocybin mushrooms, and chemicals used in methamphetamine production.
