Fellowship Christian School's Lady Paladins have advanced to the 1A soccer state championship for the second year in a row. The game will be played at Kennesaw State University's Fifth Third Stadium on Saturday, May 18 at noon. Paladin fans are asked to wear navy blue for 'true blue fan day' as a show of support.

Taylor Cookston and Cameron Petrovich were chosen by the coaches of Single A teams.
Fellowship Christian School juniors Taylor Cookston and Cameron Petrovich were selected to the First Team All State Class Single "A" recently. They were chosen by the coaches of all Single A teams. Only 11 varsity boys are named to this all-star team, which makes the nomination an honor for the FCS lacrosse community. Both Cookston and Petrovich played on the first FCS middle school team. After only four seasons of Paladin Lacrosse, there are currently 110 athletes (boys and girls) playing lacrosse at Fellowship from U11 to Varsity. Petrovich was also recognized as a GHSA Honorable Mention player, voted on by all 5A through Single A coaches in the state of Georgia, making him one of the top ten percent players among 5AAAAA-1A in Georgia. …

Fellowship Christian School competes in the AAA Division of North Atlanta Metro League.
Fellowship Christian Middle School girls’ and boys’ soccer teams brought home AAA NAML championship titles recently. In a display of precision passing and excellent teamwork, the FCS girls defeated Mt. Pisgah on Patriot turf by a score of 5-0. "It was an awesome game," said Lady Paladins Coach Christy Goar. "Coach JJ and I were truly impressed by the way the girls came together and played. Their teamwork was impressive." Also, for the second straight year, Fellowship Christian Middle School boys' soccer team won the championship with a 1-0 victory over Pinecrest, finishing the season undefeated. Fellowship Christian School's powder puff game found juniors and seniors playing versus freshman and sophomores, Wednesday, Jan. 23. The weather was perfect and a fun time was had by all. The upperclass women prevailed with a final score of 42-28.For more pictures check out the FCS website.

Fellowship Christian School has hired former Georgia State assistant coach Ryan Zimmerman as its defensive coordinator and Dan Parsons as the Paladins backs coach. Ryan Zimmerman Zimmerman, a native of Gainesville, brings nine and a half years of coaching experience to FCS. He joined the Georgia State University program in 2009 after spending five years as a high school coach at his alma-mater West Hall High School (1999-2002) and East Hall School (2005). Those teams reached the playoffs in four out of five years in three different classifications (AA/AAA/AAAA). Zimmerman helped coach and develop more than 20 collegiate signees from those schools. Each year the Atlanta Journal Constitution names high school athletes in each sport as its "Atletes of the Year" - this year, the list included two Roswell area school sports stars. For girls soccer, Emily Sonnett of Fellowship Christian was honored as the top athlete in her sport for this past school year. According to the newspaper, the FCS senior had 25 goals and 12 assists during the 2012 season. Sonnett was also named an ESPN first-team all-American and a member of the Under-18 Women’s National Team. She has signed to play soccer at the University of Virginia. Within girls tennis, junior Kourtney Keegan at Blessed Trinity was 19-0. According to the AJC, she is the No. 1 high school junior girls player in Georgia. Keegan has committed …

The courageous Lady Paladins played hard, but came up a little short in the championship match up against First Presbyterian Day School on Saturday, May 19, losing 1-0. Wearing all white, the FCS fans packed the stands in full support of their soccer team in what was dubbed a 'white out.' It was a high spirited game with plenty of fierce plays but luckily no injuries. At the end of the night eight seniors left Paladin field for the final time. "There were more smiles than tears as they said goodbye though," said team photographer Lisa Webb. "They all recognized what an accomplishment it was just making it to state finals."

Fellowship Christian School Paladins girls soccer team advance to the state finals after defeating Pace Academy Wednesday night in overtime. When regulation time of the game ended in a score of 1-1, that game went to overtime and ended with no further score. A penalty kick shootout crowned the Paladins the victors, 3-1. "There were plenty of cards handed out on both sides but most noticeably was the red card given to the FCS goalie with four minutes left in regulation after a close play," said team photographer, Lisa Webb. "FCS went on to stop three of the Pace penalty kicks with our back up goalie, Emily Sonnett. It was a very intense game to say the least." Fellowship Christian School Paladins are still on the road to a much desired state championship after an impressive 7-0 win over the visiting Aquinas School from Augusta, Saturday, May 12. The team - which is led by eight seniors - has been knocked out of the state tournament by the eventual state champion each of the last two years, including a loss in the semifinals last year. Although the whole team has worked hard to get where they are now, the three Division One signees showed up strong Saturday as Emma Sonnet (ESPN ranked 89) led the defense to another shutout, Elizabeth Johnson (ESPN ranked 106) scored an early first half goal and Emily Sonnett (ESPN ranked 22) led the offense with five goals. After winning a local competition, the Fellowship Christian School middle school robotics team competed on a larger scale recently, finishing 25 out of 150 middle school teams during the VEX Robotics World Championships held in Anaheim, Ca. “We competed very well both locally and in California,” said Tammy Williamson, Fellowship Middle School science teacher and robotics club advisor, “Our team won the Excellence Award during the local competition – a great feat in itself – qualifying our team to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championships.
