Lane Closures Lifted Throughout Georgia for Holiday Weekend

Georgia DOT will restrict Labor Day lane closures.

Another busy holiday weekend is fast approaching and to make traveling easier on Georgia roads and highways, lane closures throughout the state will be lifted. The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) is suspending construction-related lane closures beginning Friday, Sept. 2 at 5 a.m. through Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 5 a.m. The Labor Day weekend, regarded by some as the end of summer, typically is a busy one. With that in mind travelers are urged to exercise caution as heavy holiday traffic is expected throughout the state. Also, road crews may be still be working in proximity to highways and safety concerns may require some long-term lane closures remain in place.
