Glass Scare Prompts Lean Cuisine Recall

Three consumers reported finding glass in their ravioli.

Lean Cuisine, made by Nestlé Prepared Foods Company, has issued a voluntary recall for some of its packages of ravioli because the meal may contain fragments of glass, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall pertains to packages of Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli, with a UPC 13800-58358. The production codes are 2311587812 and 2312587812 and the “best before date” is December 2013. Nestlé is taking this action after three consumers reported they had found small fragments of glass in the ravioli portion of the entrée.
