Fulton County GOP Demands its Leaders Stick to Republican Principles

Local leaders are asking everyone who agrees to sign a petition.

It started with the simple idea to write a letter of support to Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) for his steadfast position on fiscal restraint and holding the line on tax increases. It turned into a call to fellow Republicans across the country to stand by its convictions as the fiscally prudent Party.    By an overwhelming majority, the Fulton County Republican Party (FultonGOP) voted to approve a petition that was written by FultonGOP members and approved by its Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is comprised of the FultonGOP leadership who are all elected to their positions.  It calls on Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and all Republicans to abide by the Party’s own stated principles of lower taxes and smaller government.   "For the …

Apparently it is rocket science for the spineless. But first, before anyone poo-poos giving in to liberal think, you should make a list of the benefits that negotiating with progressives will bring to the conservative cause: 1: Well, that reason isn’t a bennie. 2: That one’s worse than #1. 3. That’s the least beneficial of them all. 4: All in favor of poo-poo, say yea.   more ›

Did Speeches by Ann Romney and Gov. Chris Christie Live Up to Expectations?

Next to the presidential and vice presidential nominees, Ann Romney and Gov. Chris Christie's speeches were the most anticipated at the Republican National Convention.

Almost no speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. was more hyped than the one of Ann Romney, wife of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney. It generated almost as much excitement among party favorites as her husband's acceptance speech, which is set to take place on the last day of the RNC. Another much anticipated speech was the one given by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Now that both speeches are over, did they live up to expectations? Ann Romney was reported to be nervous about using the teleprompter for the first time, but not much else. She was expected to show the more human side of her husband - to dispel much of the talk about him being unapproachable. Christie, on the other hand, was expected to be his usual …

Ann Romney is wonderful, her speech was from the heart! Chris Christie's a man of his word and actually a tough guy. Gov. from New Mexico was fantastic and hit it head on. Paul Ryan was perfect and I do see him as future president. I think it is a great choice for VP from Romney basically because Ryan will be getting first hand experience from an accomplished executive and he will know the white …   more ›

Ann Romney Brings Husband's Message to North Fulton

The wife of GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney swung through Alpharetta this afternoon.

Ann Romney brought a message of family values to Smokejack's in downtown Alpharetta during lunchtime today, with an overflow crowd clamoring to see her. Romney told supporters her husband will win the nomination and beat President Barack Obama, statements that brought applause from the crowd that was predominantly made up of women. "This is our message. This is what we are going to do and this is our purpose," she said. "Our purpose is to go out and save America. And I'm proud to get that out every single day." The campaign may be tough, but she said it hasn't been her toughest battle. "I will tell you that my battle with MS is a little tougher than this battle. I can make it. I won the other battle. I can win this battle. This one isn't …

Rick Santorum Seeks Votes in Georgia

Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum pleaded his case for the Republican nomination by promising to get the country back to its moral founding.

Georgia was certainly on presidential hopeful Rick Santorum’s mind as he spoke at First Redeemer Church in Cumming Sunday evening. Lori Vance, who has worked closely with Santorum on the Senate floor to pass a partial birth abortion ban, was among those who arrived hours before the church doors opened. She drove five hours from Tennessee “just to support Rick” and proudly displayed a picture of her and Santorum around her neck. Young Voters Travel Far to Hear Santorum Speak Twenty-three-year-old Kevin Zurrica from Macon believes most people his age aren’t interested in the political process. But he hopes that Santorum will snag the nomination and win the hearts of America’s youth. According to Zurrica, America’s young voters are the key to…

"Try to end these wars-which is a bigger problem than making the Catholic church pay for universal health care in their centers." Sorry can't let this ride, it's as big a problem as it points to attitude about how far government can go. There is no rationalization that reasonably would allow a government or a person working for a religious organization to compel the organization to violate its …   more ›

Newt Gingrich Brings Campaign, Herman Cain to South Forsyth

Jobs, energy independence message strikes chord with Georgia Republicans on Saturday morning.

Herman Cain was Newt Gingrich's "opening act" at a political rally in south Forsyth County this morning, Feb. 18. The former GOP presidential candidate said he's trying to convince Gingrich to adopt his "9-9-9" plan, but said Newt's own tax plan is the closest to his ideas. Gingrich for his part said no matter what the "lamestream" media says, it's still anybody's race for the Republican nomination, citing his own and Rick Santorum's successes against Mitt Romney. The former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives brought his daughter, Jackie Cushman, grandson, Robert, granddaughter, Maggie, and a friend of hers to the stage at South Forsyth High. The crowd started lining up at 7 a.m., surprising the Forsyth GOP organizers a bit. They…
