Linda Schultz will hold a meeting Tuesday, May 15 at Hembree Springs Elementary School.
Linda Schultz, who represents Roswell on the Fulton County Board of Education, will host a community meeting this week. The meeting provides an opportunity for direct contact with school board members, giving them a chance to listen to local issues and concerns, according to Fulton County Schools. Roswell leaders recently held a ribbon-cutting.
It began with a simple question asked by parents and children living near Hembree Park in Roswell: “Why can’t we walk to school and the nearby park?” The answer was equally as simple: There was an old barn in the way, up very close to Hembree Road and it did not leave room for a sidewalk to give easy access to Hembree Springs Elementary School, Elkins Pointe Middle School or Hembree Park. When the city of Roswell approached the barn’s owner, she very graciously suggested moving the historic barn to another location to open up space for what would become the Hembree Road Multi-Use Trail. Families collected coats, hats and gloves for North Fulton Community Charities.
Fun with family, a sense of community, and donating for a great cause were a few of the many themes found at the first annual Sweetheart Dance sponsored by Hembree Springs PTA. More than 400 staff, students and sweethearts celebrated upcoming Valentine’s Day by dressing up, dancing with mom, dad, grandparent or other special adult. To share the love, families collected gently used or new coats, hats, and gloves that will be given to North Fulton Community Charities to help those in need this winter. Attendees received a carnation and a professionally taken photo with their sweetheart as mementoes of the evening. The dance was a “sweet” success! Local Fulton County Schools Board Chair Linda Schultz has invited the public to join her this morning, Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at Hembree Springs Elementary School for her monthly community meeting. If you can't make the meeting this morning, Katie Reeves - who joins Schultz in representing several Roswell area schools, including Hembree Springs, Elkins Pointe Middle School and Roswell High School - will host a meeting tonight at Chattahoochee High School at 7 p.m.
