Roswell has been chosen to participate in the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH), a three-year program that assists cities in addressing their housing needs. Through GICH, Roswell will evaluate demographic changes in the community and the impact those changes will have on housing. GICH will assist the city in developing a housing strategy that will be presented to the mayor and Roswell City Council for consideration at the end of the program period. During the program, Roswell’s designated Community Housing Team will receive facilitation, instruction and technical assistance as it designs and implements its strategy. Fulton County will hold a workshop Thursday, April 26, in Roswell to educate tenants.
Are you a renter? Do you know your all you should about being a tenant? The Fulton County Housing and Human Services Department, Office of Housing and Community Development will host an information workshop tomorrow, Thursday, April 26, to educate tenants on their rights and responsibilities. The session will provide information on the following tenant issues: The session is scheduled from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Roswell Neighborhood Senior Center at 1250 Warsaw Road. A Spanish translator will be present to assist with the session. Fulton County has said that $456,878 previously allocated to Roswell will soon be reallocated to other parts of the metro area, including, possibly, the neighboring cities of Mountain Park, Alpharetta and Milton. The Fulton County Housing and Human Services Department will conduct public meetings regarding a proposed amendment to the county's Annual Action Plan previously approved by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Annual Action Plan is a required document that outlines how Fulton County and its partners propose to spend each year’s HUD allocation.
