Ernst & Young to Open Global IT Center in North Fulton
Firm will invest $8.5 million in Georgia facility and create 400 new technology jobs.
Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that the Ernst & Young organization is opening a global IT center in Alpharetta, investing $8.5 million and expanding the organization’s presence in Georgia with 400 new jobs, according to a press release from the Governor's office. "Georgia’s talent, affordability and willingness to embrace and support cutting-edge innovation have drawn quite a wave of technology-focused investment lately," said Deal. "When a company with the highly recognizable brand that EY carries chooses Georgia for its expansion, it’s a powerful statement." While I am happy that there will be 400 jobs created in Alpharetta, you have to keep in mind the 500 jobs that are being eliminated in Secaucus, NJ as a result of this move. It is a severe action affecting the lives of many people who have been with EY for a decade or more.
