Hembree Springs PTA Hosts Back to School Social

Over 300 attended the ice cream social to celebrate "back to school."

Smiles, a sense of community and getting involved were a few of the many themes found at the Back to School Ice Cream Social sponsored by Hembree Springs PTA at Hembree Park in August.  Over 300 students, parents, and staff celebrated the first week of school by getting together, eating ice cream and signing up for volunteer opportunities.  "The social was a "sweet" success," said PTA president, Jane Sarphie, "Family engagement is one of our key goals for the 2012-2013 school year. It provided a chance for our PTA, families, and staff to connect after a great first week back to school. All You Can Eat at Miss Mary's Ice Cream Crankin'

The ice cream social at Historic Roswell Town Square this afternoon benefits The Drake House.

What's better than cold ice cream on a warm Sunday afternoon? More ice cream! Today marks the 8th annual Miss Mary's Ice Cream Crankin', which benefits The Drake House. More than 100 flavors of ice cream will be served up here in Roswell, and you can eat all that you want, one scoop at a time, for $20 per family, or $5 per person. River Eves Hosts 'Welcome' Ice Cream Social

The August 8 event is a time for new students to meet each other and for parents to meet school staff and administration.

Already gearing up for the beginning of next school year, River Eves Elementary PTA is inviting all rising Kindergarten and new students to attend an informative and fun ice cream social in early August. The event, August 8, will be an opportunity for students to meet each other on the playground and share ice cream and popsicles together. Parents and families will meet school administrators, teachers and PTA leaders, giving them the opportunity to ask questions about the school and forge new relationships. Bring your checkbook!
