'Miracle Balloons' to Take Flight at Kroger

The Roswell stores are participating in the annual Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser, which will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Kroger store walls throughout the Atlanta area - including Roswell - will soon be dotted with “Miracle Balloons” in honor of the grocer’s annual fundraiser benefitting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – a member hospital of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).  From May 19 to June 8, customers can purchase $1 hot-air balloon icons at checkout to help Kroger reach its goal of raising $350,000 to benefit local children’s hospitals. Roswell Kroger Customers Raise Money for Muscular Dystrophy Association

Customers at Krogers throughout Atlanta region donated more than $297,000 from March 17-30.

Kroger customers around Atlanta surpassed the grocer’s $275,000 fundraising goal and donated more than $297,000 from March 17-30 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The annual fundraiser encouraged local Kroger customers in Roswell to purchase $1 or $5 shamrocks to help MDA send young patients to summer camps and provide comprehensive health care, medical equipment, wheelchairs, support services and clinics to those affected by the nearly 40 forms of neuromuscular diseases. Area Kroger Stores Donate to Relay for Life

Over $184,000 was donated to the American Cancer Society's fundraiser.

Kroger customers and associates in its Atlanta Division – which includes Roswell area stores – contributed more than $184,000 to support the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay For Life campaign – an 8 percent increase from last year’s donations. For two weeks in February, Kroger customers and associates at the 213 stores in Georgia, South Carolina, Northern Alabama and Eastern Tennessee purchased $1 “footprint” icons for Relay For Life, a signature fundraising event that takes place in more than 5,100 communities nationwide and abroad. Kroger Recalls Some Mardi Gras King Cakes

Stores in Georgia are part of the recall.

The Kroger - Atlanta Division said today it is recalling some in-store baked Mardi Gras King Cake Cinnamon sold in four states, including Georgia, because it may contain pecans not listed on the label. Customers who purchased the product between Dec. 30 and Feb. 4, should return the product to stores for a full refund or replacement. People who are allergic to pecans could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to pecans, there is no safety issue with the product. Kroger stores in three other states are included in this recall including: Alabama, South Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Kroger’s Atlanta Division is teaming up with several local businesses and charities to keep families warm during the cold winter months in Georgia. The 2013 Project Overcoat campaign runs through Jan. 19, according to a press release from Kroger. During that time, Kroger customers and associates are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats to any store location throughout metro Atlanta. Kroger Rounds Up Support for Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy

Customers can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar – the difference benefiting the American Red Cross and its disaster relief efforts in the Northeast.

Kroger stores throughout the Atlanta Division are encouraging customers and associates to donate to the American Red Cross, which is providing shelter, meals, emotional support and other necessities to those affected by the deadly aftermath of Hurricane Sandy after it made landfall on Monday. The Kroger Co. family of stores in 15 states, including Georgia, is asking customers to check their refrigerators for certain Kroger Fresh Selections Tender Spinach 10 ounce packages (UPC: 0001111091649) with a "best if used by" date of September 16. This product, supplied by NewStar Fresh Foods LLC, is being recalled because the product may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Local Krogers Collecting School Supplies

Roswell Kroger stores serving as drop-off sites for essential school supplies for homeless children in metro Atlanta during two-week ‘Back 2 School’ campaign.

Roswell Kroger stores are collecting book bags and school supplies for homeless children in metro Atlanta. Kroger’s Atlanta Division, in partnership with the Children’s Restoration Network and WSB-TV, is conducting its 18th annual “Back 2 School” campaign July 16-28. During the two-week drive, 125 Kroger stores will serve as school supply drop-off sites to benefit metro Atlanta children.  The Children Restoration Network’s Back 2 School program will distribute the book bags and school supplies to homeless children. Local Krogers 'Round-Up' Support for U.S. Troops

The grocery chain is partnering with the USO to support the families of American troops; and you can participate through July 7.

Kroger is joining forces with the United Service Organization (USO) now through July 7 to “Round-Up” support for American troops and their families by urging customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar. The “Round-Up” will raise funds to help provide financial assistance for service men, women and their families. Local Kroger Stores Help Raise Money for MDA

A bowling tournament and a hiking event helped this part of the Kroger Atlanta Division raise more than $42,000 of the $375,000 total.

The Krogers in the Roswell area participated in a bowling tournament that helped the Kroger-Atlanta Division raise more than $375,000 to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The Bowling for MDA tournament included stores in Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek, Cumming and north into Dawson County. A hiking special event also helped raise funds. This part of the Kroger division raised $42,536 of what was collected for MDA. The campaign in which customers and associates could purchase a shamrock shaped pin-up for a donation of $1 or $5 ran in stores during the month of March, according to a release from MDA.
