Rob Goodman of Roswell has announced his candidacy for the Fulton County School Board, District 1, challenging Linda Schultz who has held the seat for the past eight years. Goodman is a decorated Vietnam War combat pilot and a retired Captain of Delta Air Lines. He and his wife have lived in Roswell for 28 years. During those years, he has had three children educated through Fulton County Schools at what were some of the best public education facilities in the country, at the time. Roswell resident and Fulton County School Board President Linda Schultz declared Wednesday, May 23, that she is seeking re-election. “I am honored to serve the citizens of District 1. Our schools are stronger and our system has earned the envy of others. However, there is still much to be done. I am committed to continuing to work passionately to raise the bar for all students,” said Schultz, who was first elected to the school board in 2004. During her tenure on the board, Schultz focused on fiscal accountability, transparency and student achievement. The sessions provide an opportunity for direct contact with community members and give board members a chance to listen to local issues and concerns. Fulton School Board member Linda Schultz, whose District 1 encompasses most of Roswell, will hold her first community meeting of year with the start of the new school year, Monday, Aug. 15 at the Teaching Museum North. The 9:30 a.m. meeting is open to all members of the community. Just to make sure everyone is up to date.... Transparency's comments were made before a full audit was released about the supposed FSA mismanagement. It cleared every single accusation and questioned the school board's integrity.
