As a way to give back during this time of year, students decided to donate their hard earned efforts to people in need. Because staff at the karate center believe a major part of the martial arts is not only teaching, but giving back, the center held a board “Break-A-Thon” to raise money for the local non-profit's food pantry.  Students received pledges for every wooden board they broke. While the goal was only $1,000, with the help of 40 students, the center actually raised $4,295.50 to donate. Center student Katie Jewett raised the highest amount at $480.50 and Andrew Schoppenhorst won the coveted "Hyper Breaking" event by breaking 20 boards in 26.8 seconds.
