Winter Weather Causes Icy Roads

Roswell Transportation Department crews worked through the night for the past two nights de-icing road surfaces.

As Old Man Winter continues to blow bitter cold weather our way, city officials and local companies are working in conjunction to make sure residents stay safe and warm. Between Sunday and early Monday morning, the Roswell Transportation Department responded to nine calls regarding icing problems within the city. "Crews worked an overnight shift to respond to the calls," said Roswell Community Relations Manager, Julie Breckbill. "These crews also check the roads for ice patches throughout the city." One area that had some difficulties on Monday morning was Mountain Park Road, which dealt with downed trees and power lines.
